Japfa Starts Construction of Parent Chicken Farm in Dak Lak
The farm, covering more than 8 hectares, is expected to be operational in early 2025 and will produce superior quality breeds, providing hygenic agricultural products to the Central and Central Highlands markets.
In July, Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japfa Vietnam) coordinated with the investor to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of a 100,000-chicken parent chicken farm in Ea Tul commune, Cu M'nga district, Dak Lak province. The project is designed according to a modern model with a total cost of nearly 70 billion VND, applying the closed cage method to optimize conditions in livestock farming, ensuring livestock productivity. When put into operation, the project will create jobs for many local workers, while shortening the time to transport eggs to the poultry hatchery, reducing loss rates and increasing the quality of breeding eggs.
Mr. Sanjeev Kumar - Director of Poultry Industry Japfa Vietnam said: “The Ea Tul parent chicken farm project will contribute to completing the closed production model, aiming to develop high-tech agriculture in the Central Highlands. The event marks a step forward in realizing the goal of doubling the output of colored chickens by 2028”.
In Japfa's long-term development vision, the Central Highlands is a key investment area with a favorable location in terms of traffic infrastructure, regional connectivity with animal feed factories in Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan and a large scale of livestock processing across the provinces. From these advantages, the company has put into operation many important projects in the area, including the Poultry Hatchery in Krong Buk district with a design capacity of 40 million chicks/year and the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in Buon Ma Thuot city. The center is structured with three main functions: microbiology, physicochemistry and serology to support disease prevention for farms, monitor animal health and increase livestock farming efficiency.
“In the coming period, Japfa Vietnam will continue to invest in local chicken farms, while expanding cooperation with many farmers, improving the level of household farming towards industry to bring stable economic value and reach common prosperity for the places where the company is present”, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar shared.
Japfa entered Vietnam in 1996 through a joint venture model with Vietnam Livestock Corporation. In 1999, Japfa became a 100% foreign-owned company under the name Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. headquartered in Huong Canh town, Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province. After nearly 30 years of development, Japfa has completed a closed value chain "From farm to table" with a network of operations throughout the provinces. In terms of poultry farming, the company owns 4 hatcheries, 30 high-quality chicken farms and cooperates with more than 1,000 chicken farming households nationwide, supplying the market with more than 100 million chicks each year.
